Interested in finding out if your existing equine might like to pull a carriage? Join us for a one-day clinic covering basic groundwork and ground-driving exercises you can do with your equine to see if they might take to pulling a carriage. The learning format includes lectures, demonstrations, and Q&A.
Cost: $150 Includes individual Aiken Driving Club membership and lunch. ($100 non-refundable deposit required. $40 of the deposit will go towards an individual Aiken Driving Club membership if not currently a member)
October 6,7,8 2026 LMF Learn to Drive Camp
Clinicians: Kristin Whittington FEI & ADS Combined Driving official and local driving instructor Sara Odom
Time: 0900-1600
Come give carriage driving a try! The camp includes two days of hands-on driving and lecture based on the Carriage Driving of America (CAA) Entry Level standard including: entering & existing the carriage; use of aids in driving; reinsmanship; parts of the harness & harnessing; putting to and unhitching the carriage; and executing basic turns, halt, and salute at the walk and trot. Day three includes a schooling 'derby competition' where participants can experience the fun, excitement, and camaraderie of a show experience in a low-key atmosphere.
* 5 individualized opportunities driving an experienced equine with one of the clinicians
* Presentations and Q&A during lunch on harnessing, Aiken Driving Club activities, and available driving competitions and recreational events
* Meet the Driving Community! Multiple volunteers from the Aiken Driving Club will be present
