Aiken Driving Club Educational Grants

The ADC Board of Directors has created a grant from money donated in the name of Sandy Nicolaison. The following are the criteria:

1. Must be a current Aiken Driving Club member in good standing. Membership must be in effect for at least one year prior to application.


2. Applicants must volunteer at no less than 2 ADC sanctioned events for the current calendar year.


3. It is not a requirement for the applicant to be an active carriage driver.

4. Grants will be awarded for clinics as either an introduction to driving or to improve the skills of an established driver.


5. Applicants may apply for one(1) grant per calendar year.The amount of the grant(s) will be $100. A total of 10 grants will be awarded per calendar year.


6. Applicants must submit requests in writing to ADC at least 30 days prior to the event that they wish to attend or participate in. Information contained in the application needs to include the date(s) of the event/clinic/lesson; the reason the applicant wishes to attend the event/lesson; as well as the time, date and location of the event/clinic/lesson.

7. The Board of Directors will oversee the awarding of the grants, and all decisions made by the ADC Board are final.


8. In the event of cancellation of the event by organizer all fees are to be returned to the ADC.


9. If an applicant fails to attend the event/clinic/lesson it becomes the applicant’s responsibility to assure the return of the grant money to the Club within 10 days of the event date.
