Growing up on my grandfather’s boarding farm in New York, I was surrounded by horses practically from the moment I could walk. The family album is full of baby photos of me on tractors and ponies. Riding was a family pastime, but carriage driving was what really caught my attention. Sometimes I suspect my mom nudged me in that direction because my little sister was the better rider. Whether it was strategy or luck, I was hooked.
At eight years old, I started driving my first miniature horse. There was something magical about it, it felt like the perfect fusion of my mom’s horse obsession and my dad’s love of mechanics. Plus, I didn’t have to post while driving, which I’ll admit felt like a win at the time!
I got my start in 4-H events, where I learned the basics and caught the competition bug early. Before I knew it, I was diving into ADS pleasure driving, showing both singles and pairs all through my college years. Thinking back, it feels like we spent every summer weekend at a horse show somewhere, and honestly, we probably did!
After college, I had the incredible opportunity to work for Frolic Weymouth for two years. When he passed, I spent the next five years coaching and driving teams for Tucker Johnson. Those experiences gave me a deep appreciation for the rich history behind the sport, and some incredible life experiences.
In the summer of 2022, I decided it was time for a change and packed up for Aiken. The move brought me closer to my grandfather, who I firmly blame for starting this horse habit in the first place.

Being in Aiken has been an adventure in the best way, I’ve met so many wonderful people and found a fantastic community that shares a passion for all things equestrian. It’s also given me the chance to dive into the next chapter of my driving journey with my mare, Georgie. Together, we’ve dipped our toes into the waters of combined driving. Who knows how far down that path we will go, but I’m excited to find out!
